What clothes do you wear to Iguazu Depending on the time

Knowing what clothes to bring to Iguazu is as important as the travel ticket or accommodation. Your enjoyment will depend on appropriate clothing and comfort.

    21 de January, 2021

Travelling to Iguazu is adventure, contact with nature and the possibility that –at some point in the activities– you will end up somewhat wet. Remember that the main attraction of this place are the Falls, nothing more and nothing less than one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. From there, it is important to know what clothes to bring to Iguazu.

An important topic, especially considering that the clothing has a direct relationship with the activities or excursions that you are going to make and the climate in Iguazu, which –in the case of this city– remains almost the same all year round.

We are talking about a humid place after the great influx of water in this area and the missionary jungle, which means that no matter the weather, whether it’s winter, summer, autumn or spring, you’ll have to wear clothes suitable for a humid cold, humid temperate or humid hot weather. Always humid!

INFALLIBLE IN THE SUITCASE FOR A TRIP TO IGUAZU

As we mentioned, the humidity and the possibility of getting wet with the water of the Falls are a constant on a holiday in Iguazu beyond the season when you visit this place of the Province of Missions. That’s why we want you to be aware of the clothing and accessory that can’t be missing from your suitcase in any season of the year:

    •         A towel (beyond those provided in hotels, some that you can take on a hike).
    •         Shoes with good grip, comfortable for hiking and also are waterproof and non-slip.
    •       A replacement shoe in case the ones you’re wearing get wet and you need to wear another pair of shoes or just something more comfortable.
    •         Several pairs of stockings for the same water theme.
    •         T-shirts (long and short sleeves) and muscular, fresh and light to change if they get wet or humid.
    •         Some fine jacket or diver.
    •         If you have a pilot, you can also buy it in Iguazu as there are many places that sell them, even within the National Park.
    •         Flip flops
    •         Swimsuit
    •         Shorts or any kind alike

The idea is that you look like an onion (in layers), depending on how you can easily adapt to the atmosphere of the place. Most excursions start early, and the morning is usually cooler than noon, so you’ll probably want to get off clothes, for which you should consider clothes that you can be taken off and be easy to wear for the rest of the day, either put on or in the backpack.

CLOTHES FOR A WINTER IN IGUAZU

If you are going to travel in winter we suggest adding some slightly warmer garments, even though the temperature does not drop much during the colder months (July, August and September).

You should include a few more warm pieces such as some long pants or underwear, sweater or long sleeve shirt, it can be an additional diver or windbreaker and waterproof jacket, as there is usually more rain. In this sense, it isn’t a bad idea to also include an umbrella for some visits.

SUMMER, SPRING OR AUTUMN CLOTHING IN IGUAZU

To travel in summer, spring and autumn, seasons characterized by a very warm climate throughout the day; we advise to bring more changes of light clothing. You can also wear some comfortable and cool dress, shorts, a fresh fit and sandals. A hat is infallible due to the strong sun. We also recommend some very light and fresh jacket that you can use to avoid insects

WHAT TO BRING TO IGUAZU FOR THE CHILDREN?

If you are traveling with children, a good alternative is to wear crocs shoes, as they are comfortable and cool to walk. We also recommend taking for them: a special backpack with some snack because, although there are places to buy snacks in the National Park, not on all trails there is a place to please some of their requests.

A good idea in the case of children with short hair is to wear a hat with cover on the back of the neck. Remember that they will be very exposed to the sun in outdoor activities and, because of the humidity of the area, water, rubbing clothes and perspiration, the sunscreen does not usually last long in the body.
