Wine roads, unmissable of Mendoza!
Caminos del Vino is a must-see excursion in Mendoza. You will tour the best wineries in the province; the tasting is exceptional!

Did you know that Mendoza is the first wine producer in Argentina? That’s right! From there the Caminos del Vino excursion is a must for anyone visiting the province. We are talking about one of the places with the best enological tourism. Touring its wineries and vineyards will surely be the best of your experiences.
Although wine tasting is a delight just by trying the best in the country, Wine Roads goes much further. It is a route that, in addition to combining the most exquisite aromas and flavors of the fascinating drink, it presents the producing area and its establishments from expert guides and winemakers.
The activity is available all year round through circuits that gather wineries. You will know everything from the growing process, to the harvesting and production of wines (including grinding). You can make tastings in the cavas and wine pairings with dishes of regional gastronomy. There is also horseback riding among the vineyards.
As if that were not the case, there is an opportunity to stay in boutique hotels located between them, right at the foot of the Andes Mountains. If you are interested in completing your tour of the Wine Roads with a stay between vineyards, then check out the best 5 boutique hotels in Mendoza.
MENDOZA “THE WINE LAND”
Mendoza, with its kind ecosystem (irrigation with clean water of meltwater without contaminants, thermal amplitude, cool nights and an average of 300 sunny days per year) has become the main province producing high quality enological wines in the country.
Currently, Mendoza is responsible for more than 60% of the national wine production, having in its territory more than 1000 wineries (the largest amount of the country), of which a hundred are prepared for tourism, in many cases with themed restaurants, inns and world-level accommodations.
Highlighting all this, since 2006, Mendoza is one of the nine Great Wine Capitals alongside Bilbao, Bordeaux, Cape Town, Christchurch, Florence, Mainz, Porto and San Francisco.
Being part of this ranking has allowed the province to carry out a spectacular development of wine tourism, stimulating international wine tourism and fostering cultural, economic and academic exchanges.

WINE ROADS IS DIVIDED INTO ROUTES BY ZONE
Caminos del Vino is nothing more than a tourist proposal, the origin of which took place after the proliferation of wineries in recent decades. Without leaving aside the traditional ones, there are several routes per zone/circuits: the land of vine cultivation in the province is super extensive!
It is a true oasis for wine lovers. Each road has a separate exit to the city and you must have a minimum of half a day to travel it. In the case of those located in the South and Uco Valley, it should be considered that the activity involves a full day given the distance.

WINE ROADS IN THE NORTH ZONE
This road is the closest to the city. It concentrates more than half of the wineries that open its doors to tourists. With an urban and rural profile, it presents a wide range of productive models that goes from the most artisanal to the purely industrial, with state-of-the-art machinery.
The departments of Lavalle and Las Heras mainly grow pink varieties, while from the area of Luján de Cuyo -Maipú, Guaymallén and Godoy Cruz- high quality varieties of reds, rosés and whites emerge. This is how Malbec acquires special features. Two must-haves in the area are Bodega López and Bodega Giol.
With an attractive historical, cultural and natural offer, the region invites you to enjoy recreational activities, accommodation in wineries and much more. The important height, the varied climate, the optimal agro-climatic conditions and the high degree of technological improvement give the wines born in this area an impeccable peculiarity and exclusivity.

WHAT THE EAST OF THE ROUTE OFFERS
It comprises the main wine-producing area of the province and presents an essentially rural panorama with small villages scattered throughout the territory (the departments of San Martín, Rivadavia, Junín, Santa Rosa and La Paz).
Vineyards irrigated by cold waters, grant grape varieties; high quality wine raw material overall. With an incredible landscape of vineyards and the imposing Cordillera in the background, it also offers important historical and cultural attractions. Wine establishments are presented with an interesting contrast of wineries: industrialized and small production boutiques, giving an unmatched variety. The must-see wineries in the east are Casa La Primavera and Bodega Carelli.
ROUTE SOUTH AND ITS WINERIES
The route of the southern area is composed of the vineyards of San Rafael and General Alvear, located at the foot of the main Cordillera. It is a rural profile region with beautiful and varied landscapes and countless possibilities for adventure tourism or rest lovers, in direct contact with nature. See the adventure activities in Mendoza and the best excursions from San Rafael.
In the wineries of this area, you can live the strong tradition and cultural legacy around viticulture, irrigated by the Atuel and Diamante rivers. This region has almost 20% of the vineyards of the province. The must-see wineries of this Wine Way are Bodega Suter, Bodega Bianchi and Bodega Alfredo Roca.
WINE ROADS IN UCO VALLEY
On the piedemonte of the Andes Mountain Range are erected the cultivated vineyards of Tunuyán, Tupungato and San Carlos, where the famous Malbec comes from. A wine of unmatched quality and, in that sense, the superior in the area.
The place is composed of small rural villas with a magnificent mountain landscape in the background and the strong wine identity that opens joyfully to its visitors. The wineries of this area offer all kinds of activities, possibilities and sensations, some of them created exclusively to the delight of those who visit them. The must-see wineries of this Uco Valley Wine Way are Bodega Salentein and Bodega Diamandes.
